LUKE – North Idaho

Luke is a young male Siberian Husky (about 1 1/2).  He has had a challenging life so far, and is hoping that the “Force” will bring him a loving and caring family to call his own.  Luke was in the shelter in Bakersfield, CA in April, he was adopted but escaped his yard and ended up back at the shelter in May.  In June Wings of Rescue found him and saw that he needed help and realized that he would do great in Northern Idaho, so they flew him on their plane up to the Kootenai Humane Society (KHS), this is where NW Snowdog Rescue found him.  The staff at KHS really cares about Luke, so they contacted our rescue.  Luke needs a home that is understanding of the breed.  This is the third name that he has had since April, and he has travelled far.   We hope that Luke’s luck will bring him his forever family, many have found him to be wonderful and deserving as you can tell by everyone who has helped him get to where he is now.  Luke would really love a family that he can bond with.  Luke is good on leash, he is current on all his shots and has a microchip. Luke knows sit, and he enjoys working for his treats.  He represented the rescue at the Pet fair in Spokane in April of 2019 and he did GREAT despite all those crowds. Luke really needs a family that has husky experience.  With all of the changes that Luke has been through since April he needs stability and a calm home.  Luke gets scared around young children so should only be in a home with children older than 12 who are respectful of dogs.  He is not a candidate for a home with cats or other small pets. At his foster home he has found some incredible playmates. Luke also needs a yard with secure six foot fencing. If you believe you can provide a forever home for Luke and would like to meet him or if you would like more information please contact
