Meet Silas, The Snowy White Female who will be turning 5 in November. Yes we know it’s a boy’s name, but she listens to it.

She was surrendered to rescue when her owner could no longer give her what she needed and knew she made the right decision. She got Silas as a puppy when she was 16 and at 21, now, she has had far too many life changing events. This sweet, soft, plush, white, 40lb, Adult girl has never had to share her love in 5 years and now she is learning how to be a pack member in foster care with 4 others that surround her. She does like our 9 year old Miniature Pinschers who also resides with our huskies and Silas has become quite fond of them. Once she picks her person, she will lay right beside you wherever you are.  She is a bit hand shy around the face until she gets to know you. She is housebroken and will also talk to you when she needs to go outside for potty. She is an excellent car rider. She does a few tricks like shake, high five and roll over.  She also does this cute little thing with both her front paws like she’s rowing air. She is adorably smart and lets you know when the water bowl is empty by turning it over, bringing it to you or coming to you to tell you its empty.   She knows and follows all basic commands, although sit is a tough one when she expects a treat for it!! Silas has excellent house manners and is excellent on leash.  Silas doesn’t seem to be overly affectionate, but foster mom is trying to change that, if she has anything to do about it!  Silas will definitely need a home with a secure fence so she can’t dig out as her previous owner says she is scared of heights and will not jump over.  But fence should still be at least 5’, preferably 6’. Previous owner says she will dig to China to get out!  She has been known to have a strong prey drive with chickens.

She is microchipped, spayed, up to date with vaccinations, good with children over 10, good with small dogs and also okay with cats after careful introduction.

Silas’ Adoption fee is $200. If you would like to add Silas to your family, please contact
