Hi, I’m Shadow. I’m a sweet 5-year-old female Husky. I am gray, black, and white, I have blue eyes, and I weigh about 70 pounds. I am housebroken, kennel trained, microchipped, and in excellent health. Don’t let my calm demeanor fool you – I have plenty of energy and I’m always thinking! A fenced yard with a sturdy gate is a must for me since I will escape if I can. Unlike most Huskies, I’m not vocal – I don’t bark or howl unless I am in distress. I’m OK being left alone but my pal Ghost needs me around when our humans are not home.
I LOVE to eat – although I’m not overweight, don’t leave me alone with food or I’ll gobble it up. However, my food motivation means I’m very willing to lean new skills – I’ll work for treats! I am friendly but reserved with people – I’ll jump up and give kisses at first, then lay down and wait for someone to give me a job to do. I might be OK with small kids but I’ve never been around them.
I love watching birds, figuring out my treat dispensers, and going on long walks. I pretty much go with the flow and I’ll accompany my humans anywhere. I know basic commands and I’ve learned to stay off the furniture. I have been working on leash training; as long as I am rewarded frequently I’ll walk without pulling.
When it comes to other dogs, mostly I can take them or leave them. My companion Ghost is the boss and I’m just fine with that. However, I do have a strong prey drive and will not do well in homes with small pets. My pal Ghost and I are a bonded pair and we need to be adopted together.
