Become a Foster Parent with NW Snowdog Rescue

Opening your home to a dog through NW Snowdog Rescue means you're not just offering a place to stay – you're giving a deserving dog a new beginning.

What Fostering Involves

When you foster a dog, you're temporarily bringing a dog into your life and home while they await their permanent family. Fostering is an important role that helps prepare dogs for their future.

The duration of fostering can vary depending on the dog’s needs. Some dogs may stay with you for only a few weeks, while others might remain for months or even longer.

Our team works hard to match foster dogs with families that can meet their specific needs and timeline, but typically, expect to foster for a few months.

Why You Should Foster

Foster homes are the backbone of Northwest Snowdog Rescue. Without the support of our foster families, we would be unable to save and care for as many dogs.

There are plenty of reasons to foster:

  • You might want the experience of raising a dog but aren't ready for a long-term commitment.

  • You may have recently lost a beloved pet and want to help another dog, but aren’t ready for a permanent addition.

  • Or maybe you simply want to make a difference in a dog’s life.

Fostering is a deeply rewarding experience that allows you to give a dog a chance at a better future. Your help is instrumental in their journey to a forever home.

If you are interested in adopting one of our pups or just fostering to see how things go, please fill out our Adoption/Foster Application.

Whether you are adopting or fostering all homes will have a yard check done, we want to make sure a family has a secure yard for the dog.
